I don’t think Kim Kardashian should be allowed to get the divorce. We have to protect the sanctity of marriage, and how am I supposed to explain to my kid that she got divorced only 72 days after the wedding?! And next thing you know, divorced people are going to be teachers in school, and putting their divorce agenda into the textbooks, and I certainly don’t want my children learning that disgusting stuff in school! You’re oppressing me!!!!!

If there’s anyone who thinks their ‘how am I going to explain gay marriage to my kids’ argument doesn’t sound this silly, they’re wrong and stupid.

After picking out her dream bridal gown at a Somers Point bridal shop, Alix Genter received a call from the store’s manager, who said she wouldn’t work with Genter because she’s a lesbian.

The manager of the salon, in Somers Point, N.J., said she didn’t want to be associated with “illegal action.”

Apparently, Donna was stunned to learn, after reviewing your customer-information sheet, that you’re a lesbian. On the paperwork, you’d crossed out the word “groom” and written “partner” instead, and then inserted your fiancée’s name.

“She said she wouldn’t work with me because I’m gay. She also said that I came from a nice Jewish family, and that it was a shame I was gay. She said, ‘There’s right, and there’s wrong. And this is wrong.’ “

Above is the audio from Alix’s phone machine left by Donna The Bigot.
Pissed off about this? Tell the bigoted manager. Her name is Donna:

Arkansas School Board Member Says Gay Students Should "Get AIDS and Die"

mikesova:

“Seriously they want me to wear purple because five queers committed suicide. The only way I’m wearin’ it for them is if they all commit suicide,” McCance said, in one of the most ugly outbursts in recent memory. “I can’t believe the people of this world have gotten this stupid. We are honoring the fact that they sinned and killed themselves because of their sin.”

“Being a fag doesn’t give you the right to ruin the rest of our lives. If you get easily offended by being called a fag then don’t tell anyone you are a fag. Keep that shit to yourself,” McCance wrote. “It pisses me off though that we make a special purple fag day for them. I like that fags cant procreate. I also enjoy the fact that they often give each other aids and die.”

 disgusting.

Flames. Flames on the sides of my face….

"I have made a decision. I will no longer debate the issue of homosexuality in the church with anyone. I will no longer engage the biblical ignorance that emanates from so many right-wing Christians about how the Bible condemns homosexuality, as if that point of view still has any credibility. I will no longer discuss with them or listen to them tell me how homosexuality is “an abomination to God,” about how homosexuality is a “chosen lifestyle,” or about how through prayer and “spiritual counseling” homosexual persons can be “cured.” Those arguments are no longer worthy of my time or energy."

A Few Biblical Definitions of Marriage

A Few Biblical Definitions of Marriage

August 4, 2010
"… Proposition 8 was premised on the belief that same-sex couples simply are not as good as opposite-sex couples. Whether that belief is based on moral disapproval of homosexuality, animus towards gays and lesbians or simply a belief that a relationship between a man and a woman is inherently better than a relationship between two men or two women, this belief is not a proper basis on which to legislate. The arguments surrounding Proposition 8 raise a question similar to that addressed in Lawrence v. Texas, when the Court asked whether a majority of citizens could use the power of the state to enforce profound and deep convictions accepted as ethical and moral principles through the criminal code. The question here is whether California voters can enforce those same principles through regulation of marriage licenses. They cannot. California’s obligation is to treat its citizens equally, not to mandate its own moral code. Moral disapproval, without any other asserted state interest, has never been a rational basis for legislation. Tradition alone cannot support legislation."

Iceland Legalizes Gay Marriage, Prime Minister Marries Partner

stfuconservatives:eatingcheese:

We missed this awesome news: Iceland has not only legalized gay marriage this past weekend, but its Prime Minister Johanna Sigurdardottir married her long-term partner on the day it took effect, making her the world’s only national leader with a same-sex spouse:

Sigurdardottir, 67, married writer Jonina Leosdottir on Sunday, the day a new law took effect defining marriage as a union between two consenting adults regardless of sex.

The two had had a civil union for years and changed this into a marriage under the new law, which was approved by parliament earlier this month.

The new law was celebrated at a church service on Sunday, which was also the international day for homosexual rights.

Warm fuzzies! Sigurdardottir’s statement about the new law was that it was a cause for celebration for all of Iceland, adding: “I have today taken advantage of this new legislation.” Love.

Gay Walmart Employee Forced To Wear Identifying Clothes

stfuhomophobes:

queerwatch:

thegaymovement:

Las Vegas NV – A temp employee at Walmart was pushed into revealing his sexual orientation by his boss. After revealing that he is gay, he was stripped of all responsibilites and forced to wear a yellow vest to work while facing further harassment from his employers.

This article truly did make me tear up- tear up to the fact that this was discrimination beyond measure. Fernando Gallardo was outed to his fellow coworkers by his boss. Succeeding that session, he was faced with much discrimination and prejudice from the people around him. He was faced with cruelty- up to the point that he was forced to wear a yellow vest at his work place to signify others that he was a homosexual.

Who does this? To be stripped away from his daily duties, and to be made explicitly different from the others by wearing the yellow vest, makes him seem inferior to others- and that was their exact intention. To suppress his sexuality and pride.

People, this is what homophobia has come to in the world. They do not seem to know that this is the year 2010 that we are living in. No matter how advanced we are with technologies and customs, are we still not able tolerate difference? Like I said, this is purely child’s play. Fernando Gallardo should have never put up with the intolerance in the first place- for he had his rights as a worker, yet, they were taken away from him just because he was gay. No one was there to help him, not even Nevada’s Equal Rights Commission.

If people come true to themselves, then we should praise them; not condemn them. People like Fernando Gallardo are strong, and I praise them for that; however, we cannot let this continue. Absolutely cannot. These are lives that we are talking about- lives that are deprived of rights and equality. We need a movement. -TheGayMovement
