The Bloody Jack series and kinky sex

While I’m re-reading the Bloody Jack/Jacky Faber book series, I’ve really been noticing an abundance of possible sexual overtones in the text that could be interpreted in a kinkster sort of way. It could just be me and my dirty mind, I suppose.

I don’t have a book to cite pages for you now, but some examples from The Curse of the Blue Tattoo (#2) [spoiler alert]:

1. The most obvious is the middle-aged preacher who is obsessed with the sexuality and virtue of young girls. He makes them kneel before him for long periods of time to pray and repent for their sins, resting his hands on their heads, and asking them to confess all their dirty little secrets. He delights in the girls’ fear of him and how “slutty” he thinks they are. He also rapes and hangs a girl he suspects for being a witch. Creepy as fuck.
2. Mistress Pimm, the strict head of the Lawson Peabody School for Young Girls. Girls call her “Mistress” and when they’re punished, they bend over her desk, hike up their skirts, and get spanked with a rod.
3. Amy and Jacky: Jacky is scared to sleep alone, so she cuddles up with other kids so she can sleep peacefully. This includes her best friend Amy who calls her “my darling” and other pet names. When Jacky cries, she says things like, “Come lay your head on my breast.”
4. Jacky keeps being told to “be good,” and she often laments why she can’t “just be a good girl.”
5. Jacky is, of course, attractive to every young handsome man around her, and she often allows herself the indulgence of their charms and advances. She kisses them and flirts shamelessly all while “trying to be a good girl.”
6. She has fooled around with her betrothed, James. It’s not clear what they’ve done, but it’s clear how aroused she gets when she thins on it. 
7. The description of certain outfits and how tight they bind the body reminds me of certain pieces of clothing.
8. Jacky makes friends with a prostitute who coos, babies her, and calls her “my precious” (Tolkien reference intentional or not, I have no idea) while wanting to pet and adore her.

So once again, this could all be part of my imagination, but either the author has some fun kinks on his mind, or this is just a coincidental bit of fun reading for the young adult audience.
